3-Hour Small-Group Melbourne Walking and Bar Tour with Local Guide

Walks 101 - Tours in Melbourne

Overview

You will be able to drink any beverage of your choosing while participating in this three-hour pub and strolling tour in Melbourne. Take a stroll with your guide to four different locations where you may sample drinks, beer, and wine from Australia. Visit a classic pub, a speakeasy-style cocktail bar hidden away in one of the city's many alleyways, a wine bar offering selections from the neighbouring Yarra Valley, and a fourth bar that will be chosen by your guide based on the preferences of your group. You are going to learn about the history of the area as well as the culture of the bars in Melbourne, and you are going to get some suggestions for other locations in the area that you can visit on your own time.

Funniest tour!

Have a wonderful time on the tour, our guide Max was a good laugh the whole time. I gained a lot of knowledge about the city, its culture, and its history, but it was also incredibly enjoyable to engage with the other members of the group and make new acquaintances. This is an experience that should not be missed!!

A fantastic evening

It is imperative that you do this while in Melbourne. I plan on using this excursion to get rid of my jet lag. However, it ended up being the most beneficial approach to getting to know Melbourne. Even though you just visit five bars, you still get a good sense of how people in the area pass their time. Kimmie, our tour guide, was easily the highlight of the trip.

Maxx is Awesome

There are three primary elements that combine to determine whether a guided tour will be enjoyable or not.
1- City
2- The Group
3- The Tour guide in this case Maxx

Maxx possesses quite a bit of skill in this area, and he is far and away the best of anyone I went on trips with.
There are a lot of teeny-tiny things that this guy performs to keep the blood circulating during the entire Tour.

At the reception desk of our hostel, where we first encountered Maxx, he greeted us and invited us to follow him. However, he proceeded to walk directly into a crowded elevator without indicating to us that we might be required to use the stairs or that he will wait for us downstairs. And at that point, I turned to my friend and said, "umm maybe we should walk the city on our own instead of following this guy." And my friend agreed with me.

Haha, only to find out later that he is the best at his job, especially when he role acted in the Ned Kelly story, which prompted me to ask him, "Has he ever been to an Acting School before?"

The Very Best of Max's Walking Tours

The trip was incredibly entertaining as well as educational! Choose the tour with Max Wagner, the one who laughably resembles Harry Styles, constantly and I mean always. The best storyteller, entertainer, and trip guide that you could ever hope to find or imagine!

Overview
There are more than 85 miles (135 kilometres) of on-road and off-road bike routes in Melbourne, making it one of the most bike-friendly cities in Australia. The lovely route through Melbourne is going to be taken on this tourist bike trip. Ride around the city's evocative neighbourhoods, via its lovely parks and waterfront districts, and along the meandering Yarra River, with many possibilities for taking photographs with a lunch break being an option along the way.

Great cycling tour!

A colleague of mine suggested that I check out Freddy's, and I'm very pleased she did! It was a pleasure to have Matt as our tour guide. The rate of pedalling was just right, and Matt's familiarity with the neighbourhood and the points of interest were outstanding! It was a wonderful experience when we stopped for lunch at a tucked-away, cozy eatery. If you want to "get to know Melbourne," I strongly suggest going on this trip.

A Bike Is the Ideal Way to Explore Melbourne

This tour was just amazing! The tour was made more enjoyable because of Freddy's extensive knowledge, as well as his engaging personality. During the bike trip, we travelled a great distance, observed a wide variety of Fitzroy's neighbourhoods and landmarks, and stopped at an interesting restaurant there for lunch. This was a fantastic way to get to know the city, and Freddy, our guide, was chock full of fascinating history and amusing anecdotes. We were a relatively tiny group, consisting of somewhere about ten persons at most. Strongly recommended! Many thanks to Freddy!

This was an amazing experience that I would suggest to absolutely everyone

Yesterday, my husband and I went on a bike tour around Melbourne called the Best of Melbourne, and it was fantastic. Freddy was a lot of fun to be around, in addition to being highly knowledgeable, and he took us to some amazing places. During the course of this single tour, I was able to cross quite a few items off of my to-do list. Even my daughter who is only 8 years old adored it! It's not overly hilly, and Freddy does a great job of getting you about Melbourne. The restaurant serving lunch was amazing; it was hip as well as tasty. I would strongly suggest that anyone go on this bike excursion. Thank you so much, Freddy; today was fantastic for all of us. ☺️

Excellent tour led by a professional and friendly guide.

We had Freddy as our tour guide, and our group was nice and intimate. He was fun to talk to and made an attempt to get to know everyone else who was travelling with them. We covered a lot of areas and took in a lot of sites during our trip. The lunch location was one of a kind, and the meal and cider were both excellent. Before striking out on your own to explore the city, this is a fantastic opportunity to get your feet wet.

On this tour, you won't need to worry about the trouble of renting a car because it will take you to both Great Otway National Park and Apollo Bay. You will receive customized attention from your guide, and you will be able to access more of the Great Ocean Road than is possible on larger bus trips. The majority of Melbourne hotels are serviced by a complimentary hotel pickup and drop-off service.

Great guide and tour program

We were able to learn, see, and experience so much in only a day thanks to Emily, who was a wonderful tour guide for our party as we travelled to the 12 Apostles today. I am really happy that I decided to go with Go West for my trip to Melbourne.

This tour company comes very highly recommended from me!

Tour is strongly recommended to go on!

I had a wonderful time spending the day travelling down the Great Ocean Road and seeing the Twelve Apostles. Gary, who served as our tour guide, was not only passionate and funny but also very knowledgeable. Despite the fact that it was only a day excursion, I felt that we were given enough time to both take in the scenery and relax in between activities. I would strongly encourage any traveller to sign up for this tour in order to experience a FANTASTIC day travelling along the FANTASTIC ocean road with a FANTASTIC tour guide. Thank you so much, Gary, and to GoWestTours!

Excellently designed excursion, and a huge amount of fun!

This is a fantastic excursion that has been meticulously planned and features superb pacing as well as sufficient time at each stop to take in the breathtaking vistas. Throughout the day, our tour guide Leah provided us with a wealth of fascinating knowledge, and it was a genuine pleasure to benefit from her buoyancy and sense of humour. Choose Go West; you won't come to regret making that decision!

Best day ever!!!

This tour, which my friends and I arranged at the last minute to see more of Melbourne, turned out to be the best decision we've made on this trip so far. Adam served as our tour guide, and he was fantastic the whole time. We were able to stop at a lot of different breathtaking sites, and we gained a lot of knowledge about the surrounding area. The price of the ticket was more than justified after only the first two hours of the tour (the total tour is about 12 hours long). Would absolutely, without a doubt, and without a doubt recommend this trip to everyone! Thank you very much, Adam, and thank you, Go West!!!

Free walking tour in Melbourne, Australia

We took advantage of the free walking tour provided by our tour guide Max and had a wonderful time doing so! Max made the trip very entertaining, in addition to being quite knowledgeable and having a lot of entertaining stories to relate to Melbourne. We were just 19 years old and broke as students, so we were unable to tip him. As a result, we are writing a review instead, which we would highly recommend to anyone who is going to be in Melbourne.

Dai the "taffy"

Max, or English Max as he is more commonly known, gave the impression to the general public that he was something close to a hazy somnambulist. Half sleeping and half awake at the same time, which is not common for his contemporaries. However, he came to life once he switched into his "tour mode," and to everyone's pleasure, he held us all in thrall with his wit and his extensive knowledge of Melbourne and Australia in general during the entire tour. His enthusiastic speech kept every single member of his tour audience engaged right up to the very end. Max, you made my time in Melbourne more enjoyable, and I can assure you that I will not hesitate to advise future visitors to this wonderful city to take advantage of the opportunities presented by your tours. I hope everything works out for you, and best of luck! Eirian and David both (Wales UK)

Melbourne tour

My good friend and I have recently relocated from New Zealand to Melbourne. We decided that doing a walking tour of our new neighbourhood would be the most beneficial method for us to become acquainted with it. This tour did not fall short of our expectations in any way, shape, or form. Kellie, our tour guide, was outstanding. Her prior experiences as a tour guide all over the world shone through, and she was really engaging. As a result, we gained a tremendous amount of knowledge about this incredible city. I will most certainly recommend both your tours and Kellie to others.

Wow, what an incredible trip and guide

Kellie was a fantastic tour guide; she was really knowledgeable, a terrific taleteller, incredibly kind and hilarious, and she was very helpful. Kellie brought us to the most important sites of the city, and at each point on the tour, she had an awesome story to tell about the area. The tour was fantastic. She was very helpful and took us through the process of getting to St. Kilda so that we could view the penguins. You, Kellie, were incredible, and I can't thank you enough for everything you did.

Yarra Valley Winery Tour from Melbourne Including Lunch and Yarra Valley Chocolaterie

Winebus Winery Tours

Overview

During this full-day excursion from Melbourne, you'll get to sample the cuisine and wine of Yarra Valley. Because a guide will be providing transportation for you throughout the day to each of the day's four wineries, you won't need to stress about finding a sober driver. Indulge in the meal that is provided for you, and before the tour is over, stop for some chocolate and ice cream. Through the comments of your guide, you not only gain knowledge about the history and culture of the area but also about the agricultural practices that are used there.

Really worth it!!

In the Yarra, we had the nicest time ever thanks to Ian. He was really humorous, extremely knowledgable, and put up with our insane jokes and music without complaint. He made sure we were comfortable and drove us to several incredible wineries in the area. The process of booking and being picked up was really simple, and the lunch was delicious. We had a wonderful time and definitely plan to participate in this activity once more!! You guys are awesome!

An incredible day spent in the valley

The Winebus Yarra Valley Tour was an incredible experience that I will never forget. I was a little hesitant about booking a tour because I was travelling by myself as a woman, but now I'm really glad I did. The entire day was made much more enjoyable by the presence of Ian, who not only imparted a great deal of knowledge but also kept us laughing. There is not a single thing that I can criticize about the event; it was held in a breathtaking location, the wine was excellent (all four vineyards offered copious sampling), and the lunch was delectable. To anyone who will be in the Melbourne region, I cannot speak highly enough of this recommendation.

Fantastic day trip

A fantastic day spent in the Yarra Valley touring four world-renowned wineries as well as a chocolate shop. Ben, our tour guide, was not only entertaining but also very educational. The tour takes up the full day, and there is a mind-boggling amount of material to take in. Incredible natural beauty, delectable cuisine, and, of course, a wealth of wine to sample and savour.

Excellent experience

Our tour guide exuded warmth and concern at all times. He kept his word and did what he promised! We went to four different wineries as well as a chocolaterie. We enjoyed a delicious meal and a glass of wine while we were visiting the winery. We had ample time in between each stop to snap some photos and relax before the next one. The wine bus excursion has my highest recommendation.

Fabulous day out

The winery tour that Ben provided for us today was outstanding in every way. Our journey to Melbourne was capped off with a fantastic final day. Wonderful wines, a satisfying lunch, and a memorable end at the chocolate factory capped off a wonderful day. Many, many thanks to you, Ben. We will be visiting again!

Excellent guide, outstanding wineries, and a wonderful day overall.

Strongly suggested as an option. It was a pleasure to talk to Ian and gain insight from his vast store of information regarding the Yarra Valley. He is accommodating, and he looked after each and every one of us very well. Thanks!

Wonderful tour of the wineries

Touring the Yarra Valley was a relaxing experience overall. Ben was really kind and took excellent care of all of his clients, something that I have not seen at any of the other wineries that I have visited. It comes highly recommended if you are looking for a good day out and you enjoy wine.

Best day

Ben was an absolute rockstar and led us on a tour of the vineyards. He was able to represent Britain and had extensive knowledge of both the area and its history. The vineyards were beautiful, and we got to sample a wide variety of wines; just be sure to have a hearty breakfast before you go! The meal was delectable, and it arrived at the perfect time during the day. I wholeheartedly endorse this statement!! Oh, and the chocolate makers have some work to do, and the ride home will be a long one.

The most perfect day trip!

Yarra Valley proved to be an excellent destination for our day trip. Ben, who was our driver, was fantastic. He was also hilarious and informative. When he was our chauffeur, he looked after us very well, making sure we had water to drink and ensuring that we arrived at each destination on time. We visited four wineries, a restaurant, an ice cream shop, and a chocolate factory, which was an appropriate number of visits, and we never felt rushed during any of them. The fact that it was Easter and the holidays meant that there were a lot of people at our last destination, which was a chocolate shop, so the place was really busy.

Wonderful Route!

This vacation is one that I would recommend to anyone because it was a lot of fun, and we got to try an unexpectedly huge amount of wine. The one drawback of the tour was that there was an absurdly enormous crowd at the chocolaterie, which made the experience less enjoyable but was not the tour company's responsibility because it was Easter Friday. Wonderful adventure, but make sure to pick your day carefully.

Evaluation of the Wine Bus Tour

WE had a wonderful day of sightseeing through the Yarra Valley tasting fantastic wines and being informed about the region's wines while being picked up at our accommodation and having a wonderful day.

My particular favourite was Helen's Hill because the summary about their wines was the one that provided the most information. Incredible view and the weather was perfect. Fantastic company, and even better care from our driver and guide, Ian, who entertained us with entertaining anecdotes and looked after us really well. Would highly suggest Wine Bus Tours to anybody and everyone. Everyone had a wonderful time today. I truly appreciate it. Terri.

Kellie's a gem

The loud and clear explanations that Kellie provides are a blessing to those who do not speak English. Before beginning the narration, she took care of the group and made sure that everyone was paying attention. We were taken by surprise by some interesting alleys, which we thoroughly enjoyed. Kellie anticipated what our ideas were and enthusiastically explained them, despite the fact that the group at that moment was a little bit quieter than usual. Would do so once more with additional companions:)

Awesome walking tour

I had a great time on the walking tour that Kellie led, and not only did I pick up some useful information about other aspects of the city, but I also saved some money for the subsequent attraction. Overall: It was the best walking tour ever!

Kellie is a fantastic guide

Kellie is a wonderful guide! I had a great time wandering around the city and actually picking up some new information about the sights I was seeing!

Beat Melbourne your

The walking tour that Kellie led was without a doubt one of the most enjoyable ones I've ever been on. She is such a kind and generous lady, and she generously shares her enthusiasm for the city with each and every participant on the trip. ❤️ Thank you so much !!!!

Nice

The tour was fantastic thanks in large part to Kellie's fantastic, high-energy, and upbeat attitude. I had the impression that a lot of information regarding the history and culture of Melbourne was imparted to me.

Kellie was great

The trip that we took the day before was not only highly educational but Kellie also made us giggle quite a bit. One of the aspects that I like the most about the tour was how it concluded with the option of enjoying a pub lunch with everyone. Excellent tour if you are unfamiliar with the city. I was travelling by myself, and it worked out wonderfully. Thanks

Incredible beginning to our time in Melbourne!

Kellie is a laid-back and interesting tour guide who really brings Melbourne to life for her guests. We highly recommend going on this trip because it is such a fantastic way to see Melbourne. Kellie packs the 2.5 hours with a ton of information in a way that is entertaining, memorable, and educational all at the same time.
